Tallaght West Credit Union has been part of our community for the last 33 years and is growing bigger and stronger each year. With savings in excess of €38 million, loans over of €16 million and almost 17,000 members we are one of the largest community Credit Unions in Dublin.
This Year’s Annual General Meeting
This year’s AGM will be held at 8pm on Wednesday 25th January, in St. Mark’s GAA Club. This change means that members will benefit from the 2% reduction in DIRT tax announced in the recent budget. Any dividend and interest rebates approved will be applied after the AGM.
Microcredit or ‘Social Welfare’ Loans
We have had a lot of queries from members about microcredit or ‘social welfare’ loans since a scheme was launched in about 30 credit unions earlier this year. The purpose of this scheme is to help people move away from moneylenders and use their Credit Union instead. While Tallaght West is not signed up to this scheme we are always happy to meet members who use moneylenders, and will try our best to help you move away from these high-cost loans and take control of your finances again. Just ask a staff member, or call us on 01 4510811 and ask to speak to a credit officer.
